Join us for a very special night as the Columbia Theatre celebrates the 50^thanniversary of one of the most celebrated and enduring sports films of all time.  In what is considered one of the greatest years for American cinema, Rocky was nominated for ten Academy Awards, winning three.  The film’s writer and star, Sylvester Stallone, became an overnight sensation, and the movie would go on to spawn five sequels, as well as the spin-off Creed film trilogy.  Bill Conti’s rousing score still finds itself on millions of workout playlists around the world.  Columbia’s Resident Film Historian, Dr. Jason Landrum, will introduce the film and share some fun facts about its making, massive influence, and enduring legacy.
